Athena Generics Pvt. Ltd. was founded and is jointly led by Dr. Debashish Datta and Dr. Girij Pal Singh, who bring together complementary strengths in scientific innovation and techno-commercial strategy. Their combined vision drives Athena’s mission to bridge the gap between cutting-edge process R&D and commercial success, fostering sustainable, scalable, and high-impact solutions for the global pharmaceutical and specialty-chemical industry.

Led by Dr. Girij Pal Singh, a globally recognized expert in Process R&D and Techno-Commercial Strategy, Athena Generics draws on over six decades of collective leadership experience in process development, technology transfer, and cost optimization.
Dr. Singh has an exceptional track record of innovation, having filed over 600 patent applications worldwide, with more than 250 patents granted across the United States, Europe, and India. His pioneering contributions in green chemistry, sustainable synthesis, and process optimization continue to shape the global landscape of industrial chemistry and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In addition to his patent achievements, Dr. Singh is the author of over 60 research publications and has been instrumental in filing more than 200 Drug Master Files (DMFs) for various APIs developed under his leadership at Lupin Limited — further demonstrating his ability to translate innovative science into globally recognized industrial success.
Dr.Debashish Datta
Debashish Datta, the other partner of Athena brings more than 40 years of Industrial API R&D involvement mostly heading, API R&D, Process Improvement , intensification & efficiency improvements during the first 25-27 years of his career This was followed by the next 13 years’ experience in techno commercial function & in that capacity he was entrusted with the responsibility of supporting development initiatives through Sourcing, forging partnership with vendors, Vendor development, contract development of Api & intermediates with various CDMO’s i as well as networking both in India, China & Europe as an outsourcing initiative to compliment & supplement internal development effort.
With all the collective experience, knowledge, insight that we have acquired over the years now we would like to offer our services to strengthen your efforts in chemical development in API, intermediate, speciality including providing support in addressing regulatory queries, helping you with CAPA closure etc.
